Detailed History
The only newspaper entry in the Star Tribune archives for the business is a help wanted ad from 1936. It was demolished between 1957-1959. Anthony Brutus "A.B." Cassius operated Cassius Bar from this address before moving it to 318 3rd Street South in 1958.
The current building on the site was built in 1959 as the "State Employment Security Office." It is now owned by the City of Minneapolis and referred to as the City of Lakes Building.
