Description
Now called the Smithtown Inn, this motel is located at 880 W Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, in Suffolk County, NY. It is just off Jericho Turnpike on the corner of Bridge Branch Road. The updated building is a story and a half frame structure with vinyl siding resembling clapboard. The lower portion of the exterior walls is clad in stone veneer. The windows are replacements that are designed to mimic small-paned sash windows. The building has a gable roof with gable dormers and asphalt shingles.
Detailed History
The establishment was first listed in the Green Book in 1963 and had a help wanted ad for housekeepers in local papers in 1966. The building was put for sale in the 1970s. Today the business is the Smithtown Inn.
