Detailed History

Advertised as a good place to make friends, the Jamboree Club was located in the business district on William Street. It was part of Buffalo's East Side African American community. A Masonic Temple was around the corner. A 1957 Buffalo Evening News article listed Leo Thier as the operator of the tavern. The business was first registered with the county clerk in 1937. The current site is an apartment complex.
