Description
Jefferson's was located in a single-story building on Jefferson St. between William St. and Madison. It was flanked on either side by stores, all having composite roofs. A small extension seems to have been added to the building, also having a composite roof. This added space backed up to a building made of cement block running from William Street all the way to the back of 383 Jefferson St. This building was also one story and had a composite roof according to the 1925-51 Sanborn map update.
Detailed History
While not much is known about Jefferson, it was located off William Street near many other Green Book sites, as well as La Mae Beauty Shop down the street. Currently the site is a parking lot for a shopping center on Jefferson.
