Description
High Street is now Centre Street. The 1955 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map shows a one-story cinder block "auto repair" shop on the east side of Henry/1st Street behind the "Movies, Colored" at the corner of Centre/High and Henry, and just north of Shenandoah Ave. This auto repair shop and affiliated "sales and service" was most likely the Maple Leaf Garage. It had a concrete floor, steel posts, and wood beams.
