Mrs. Mary L. Taylor, properietor. According to the 1950 census, Mary Taylor, age 63, lived at 1018 Main Street with her husband, S. Russell Taylor, 57. Both are listed as "negro," born in Virginia. Mr. Taylor was a contractor who built houses. Mrs. Taylor did not work. Six lodgers, all "negros" born in North Carolina also live in the household.
