Detailed History

The historic address was 120 Highway 10 (per the 1963 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map). It was called Haney's Place circa 1945. It was owned by Aaron Haney and later his son Melvin Haney. Aaron's daughter, Geraldine, married Herman and Blanche Stelck's son Lionel. Herman and Blanche owned the cafe next door. Geraldine and Lionel's son Ron recalls that Grandpa Haney was the bartender and Grandma Haney was the cook. There were rooms on the second floor.

Under later ownership, the car repair shop next door was turned into a dance hall. The two buildings remain connected today and are a bar.
