Description

A brick building facing southeast on Genesee Street. The multipart business block made up most of Genesee Street between North Oak and Elm Street; it consisted of 168, 172, 174, and 176 Genesee Street. 172 Genesee Street was a four-story building separated from 168-170 Genesee by a frame partition. To north, there was a three-story extension. Beyond this, there was a two-story storage building. Currently, the Catholic Medical Partners has a building over the site where 172 Genesee Street was.

Detailed History

In 1957, the owner of New China's, Andy Leong, celebrated the Lunar New Year with about 200 guests. The dinner guests all came from the Canton region of China and had since settled into Buffalo. Andy Leong also owned Kam Wing Loo at 433 Michigan Avenue.
