Description
Nomath Taxi was located on Adams, one block south of Springwood Avenue, the main artery of Asbury’s predominantly African-American West Side. The 1930 Sanborn insurance map shows a small, frame house with a one-story front porch. The address was subsumed within an apartment complex that was built in the early 1940s.

Detailed History
The Nomath taxi service, which was listed in The Green Book in 1939 and 1940, is currently a mystery. Neither the name, Nomath, nor the address at 1130 Adams Avenue, is listed in the 1940 Polk’s Asbury Park City Directory.
