Description
The 1955 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map shows "YMCA Colored" at the southwest corner of the intersection of Patton, Gainsboro, and 1st Streets. It is a composition-roofed, three-story brick building, the southern half of which serves as an office. At the northeast corner of the same intersection stands the "Roanoke Public Library, Gainsboro Branch, Colored."
