Greyhound Taxi This tavern is listed in the 1947-1955 Green Books in Wilmington without an address. The student report lists it as demolished. According to the City Directories, the taxi company occupied many different sites during the years it was listed in the Green Book: 606 Campbell Street and 605 South 9th Street (1947); again at 605 South 9th Street with a garage at 714 South 12th Street (1948, 1948); 902 Castle St (1952); and 601 South 9th Street (1956). The 9th Street and Castle Street addresses may reference the same location – a single corner shown on the 1951 Sanborn map – a building still exant, and which also housed Johnson's Barber Shop. The Campbell Street address was likely an owner residence and is no longer extant, in any event. —Andrew S. Edmonds
