Dear Sister Sate
 
                        I received your letter the other day and one from Lucinda and two papers and one paper this morning I expected a letter this morning with some money in it but it did not come Ma did not write wheather Put had was going to send that five dollars to me or was going to send it home I have wrote to him and expect a letter from him every day I did not get that letter with 5cts in it I expect it is to the Regt I have wrote to Put to send me all the letters a have there my leg is geting better I think I can go without cruches in a week or two but I think it will be lame and stiff for some time I can go on guard here as soon as I get well enough and stay as long as I want to but I think I shall go to my Regt as soon as I get able I shall not try verry hard to get a furlough I have only been away one year and I am not homesick yet I am contentted enough here I should like to see the folks verry well I think if Uncle Bill was here he might get me home but I do not think enough about coming home to put myself to a great deal of trouble about geting / furlough it has been pretty cool here for two or three days but it is going to be verry hot to day well I cannot think of anything more to write this time
