To Mother
 
 I thought I would answer your short letter we are in comfortable quartters in barricks we have bunks to and straw ticks to sleep on two bunk togather I bunk with a fellow that belongs to the 44 Regtt we have pretty good food you may send the box as soon as you are a mind to put the Company and Regtmt on it be shure and send it by Adams Express. I have got over the ague my throat bothers me a good deal Well I must for the boys are makeing so much sport that it is impossible to write /
