Well Dear I seat myself this morning to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well at this time and hope when thos comes to hand it will find you well Dear I have ben moveing so that I have not had the chance to write to you sooner Wee have not ben still since the first of this month
 
Dear wee were close to you last sunday and was sory that wee had to come back down hear I wanted to write to you then though wee had to cook and Jim Teague wanted / to write so I cooked and let him write Dear I have not heard from you sence the 22th of March I got it the first day of April Dear it seames a long time and I want to hear from you very bad and I guess if wee had not ben moveing so I think I wood of heard from you before now Dear tell lot that Jim is well and wants to see her bad Tell her that I have not wrote hardley a letter but what I have wrote to her and she dont think a nuff of me to write to me tell Lemmy that he must write to me and tel me how his little buddy is 
 
Dear wee are hear though I cant tell how long wee will stay here Wee was sent in here to keep the Yanks from the Railrode and when wee got here on one side the Yanks was comeing in on the other they demand a surrender of the town but our Colonel sent them word that was not what he come for so they did not stay long they befor wee got to fite them any so wee are here yet and they say that the Yanks has left this neighbourhood and I am glad of it Dear I dont want to have to fite them any more 
 
Dear Jack Oneal come to us and he ses that he could of stayd at the Hospittle and I think that he was sent to us Dear I want you to write me word if all of the boys were not heard off I think that they was becaus they did not bring no letters Dear Jack ses that all of the Soldiers wives had drawn mony and that you drawed 18 [?] Dear write to me word if you have and wheather you are a going to or not Dear I you must keep praying for me I nead your prays and I will pray for you Dear I send you my love you have
