My dear Father and Mother it is with grate plasure that i seete my self to pen a few more lines to you to let you now that I am well at presant and hope these few lines will find you the same I received the letter that you rote to me and Walles i was glad to think you thot to rite to me it was the first line that i had from you sence i left home well i will tell you how the Jay boyes is they are all well now marten hoten has ben sick but he has got smart now i hav ben some sick sence i come hear but i never was more tuf and helthey in the world then at the presant time i never was so fat in the world then i am now all the trubel is uncal sam will not pay us i hope he will before long for i shood like some money fokes think there in jay a man down hear dont want eny money hear but when i git out of money i am jest as uneasy as a fish out of water i hav got a little that Ann sent me she sent me ten dollars by walles and i let him hav too dollars and Ira three and cept five my self well Mother when you rite a gain i want you to tell me how Ann is giten along / with out me and how she and William git a long i think as neer as i can find out she and will has some litle truble i heard he would not fetch her up to your hous i think he was a smart fellow i would not surv his wife so Mother tell Father to rite to me and i will try to answer it i hav riten to him and i shood like to hav him rite to me wall i will tell you what the tock is hear the tock is hear that the six too too men are a goen to git musterd out this spring and i hope it may be so for i think they out to for they inlisted expectin to be musterd out with the rigment and i hope they will for there sake i herd to day that they was agont to keep them and devide the time with them and the one years men and muster the rigment out to geather if it was not for keepen the boyes i shood wish it mint be so well Father what are you goen to do this somer are you goen to hire a man this summer or not rite and tell me for i shood like to now i think of nothen more at presant only to ask you to pray for us solgers for if there is eny body that needs the prars of god peeple it is a soger for there is every thing goen on hear that you can think of giv my lov to all the fokes in jay tell Walt and Harett to rite to me you must excuse all mistakes and bad ritin rite as soon as you git this this from one that often think of you and home and all the fokes in jay good by for this time
