                        As i expect to go off on a march tomorrow morning I will try to drop a few lines to you to let you know that I am well but dont know when I can write as much again so you need not be concerned if you do not hear from me in some time for we dont know whare we are a going we are making all preperations to leave tomorrow morning we have just drawn 8 days rations some think we are going to me Gen Sherman others say we are only going out on a scouting expidition but it is only conjectures of any of them I supose the Gen knows whare he intends to go if he can but we dont the boys are all well but Alfred and he has got so many biles that he has gon to the Hospital.

            I intended answering your letter before / not now but have not got at it the money and paper and stamps I was very well pleased with that you sent by Olvin as it was for we have not received any pay yet and there is not much sigh signs of it now anyway but I cant write much now for the rest has been to bed some time now and I think I will not have much time to sleep anyway for I think we will have to get up rather early
