            dear father and Mother Stickney it is with much plasure that I seete my self to pen a few more lines to you to let you now that i am giten smart a gain i feel first rate to day and i am in hopes to be all rite in a few days and i think i shall be soon and i hope these few lines will find you all well and injoyen good helth for the last i heard from you you was all sick i hope you are all rite now i got a letter citty [?] that you rote to Ira and i open it / and red it then i put a new invlope on it and rote a slip and put it in the letter and sent it to him and i hav not herd from him sence i left him at [?]citty cart hous and i cant tell whare he is now i shood like to hear from him and i shood like to see him and lucy to gether and i gess that he cood tell her some putty good stores a bout the war but i think that i cood tell more then he cood for i was at the fite on the ninth of April and all the fites before that and he was not there i hav seen all the hard fiten that i every want to see and i gess he / has to i hav not herd from Walles sence i left Ira and i shood like to hear from him there is a man hear that got shot thrue the sholder and come out his back betwene his sholders and a nother ball put thrue his lege and the hole is most as big as your hand and a nother shot thrue the lage and he is giten well fast i think of now news to rite so i will close by biding you good by and hopen to hear from you soon this from yours truly Ephraim Torrance
