Sarah Jane Cornetet
Sarah Jane Cornetet (maiden name: Ferguson) was born on May 8, 1812, in Ohio. She married Jacob Pettijohn on October 21, 1830, and they had at least two children: Mary Ann, born on March 18, 1831; and Cyrus, born around 1834. Her husband died by the early 1840s, and she married Peter Cornetet on August 21, 1844. They lived in White Oak, Ohio, and her husband worked as a miller. By 1850, they owned $900 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $240 of real estate and $300 of personal property. She and her husband separated in 1862, and she lived on her own until at least 1880. She died on October 22, 1897.
