Dear Parents
            I recived your letter of the 26th this morning and was glad to hear from you all to and to hear that all was well and hope theas few lines will find you the same to as it leaves me so to
 
Well we air having hard fighting hear for the last 4 or 5 days all a long the lines and we whip them to while I seat my self to pen theas lines the 3rd Division of my Corps is fighting hard on our left We can hear ther shells whistel and hear them charge and chear we air ready to give the rebs a hard pull to if neaded So we have had 15 or more wounded and / 3 or 4 killed in our Regt one wounded in our Company
 
Ear this reaches you we shall hafto fight them to but we shall whip them as we air doing all of the time for the last year or more Victory is shuer ours
 
Well I am glad you sold the plase so well and hope you will do well with the other is it the Sheptson plase and did Orace pay you down for the plase and how much did you pay Jane for her land and what buisness be you gointo this sumer and the boys to Does old Guss have eney clame on the last plase and I have sent you 50 dolars in a letter have you see it yet or not let me no soon as posebel and so on and so forth Pleas wright soon to me so no more this time So good By for this / time love to all
