Charles D. Kelly
Charles D. Kelly was probably living in Mississippi by the early 1860s. In May 1862, he received a commission as a 1st lieutenant in Company G of the 40th Mississippi Infantry. The regiment took part in the siege of Vicksburg and the Atlanta campaign. He was wounded in the Second Battle of Corinth in October 1862, but he eventually recovered and rejoined the regiment. He remained in the army until the end of the war. He died sometime after the war.
