Dear Mother   I take the present opportunity to inform you how I am getting along my wound I think is getting better there has been no order yet for Indianans to be sent north but maybe soon I was sitting in the window last evening and saw a man driveing some mules and I am most certain it was John knott at least it looked like him very much
 
the Ohio boys that came from ward A. with me got ready to go to / Ohio yesterday but by some misunderstanding the ambulances never came and the dont like it much
 
the Doctor would not send any that had not been in the hospital 3 months but I think I will get off
 
the Sanitary Agent came up to see me and gave me a good shirt he is a fine man
 
            we have a few bed bugs fleas and grey backs here to keep a person company of a nights 
 
I wrote to Henry Germond our postmaster at No 4 Nashville to send me my letters if there is any for me Give my respect to all of the folks
 
I must close hopeing these few lines may find you all in good health
