Dear Mother
we received your letter this evening and was glad to hear from you and to hear that you was well
we never knew that Reach & Wheler was going untill we heard it from some one else. they told every boddy else but us. they was affraid we would want to come with them I guess. we hav only knoun it a little over a week. if they had let us know it in time we would have come with them. I guess they prefered other company
we will have to get the place in order to rent make some more fence and sow some more grass seed, & it will be fit for pasture we dont want to rent it to any boddy to plow it.
now mother we will be there October the 31 1884 and we want to bring a car if we can get any boddy to go / in with us. we want to bring a good many apples and some cider with us that is if there is any we also want to bring a team and a cow. that is if we can raise money enough to pay our expences without selling them I want to bring Barney and trade dick for a mare this is all going to happen just as I have wrote it if the good Lord spares our lives and if we can get some boddy to go in with us and help get a car I want you to write and tell us what kind of a chance a person there would be to get a team and what a team would cost or if one could be bought atall. and also what a good milk cow would cost we want to know these things so we will know what to do. you spoke about sending the tools that is impossible. all we have to eat is what tom makes in the shop / when he dont make any thing, we dont eat any thing Tom said some thing to Wheler about taking them, and he would not give him any satisfaction about it
well mother the only thing that frets me now is some place to go to a house to live in. I want you to look a round and see what you can do. we can live in one room if there is a seller under it. so you can put me in the seller and shut the door when one great big storme comes. the rest is not affraid of stormes
tom wants to know when uncle John died, and where he is buried for he has not heard from him sence he left old Ripley. write and tell me how far it is from uncle Johns to Gibbon. Clarra please send a price list of your dry goods out there cotton flannel and calico and shirting. what is wheat and corn selling at now / and write and tell me if there is any sassafras, Locust, or prsimons trees out there and has aunt Reach got any hop vines. ask uncle John if he thinks fox grapes would grow out there I am going to bring me a tree with a fox grape vine on it when I come if he does
Excuse all bad writing and spelling from Carrie To Mother

I will send all Whelers will take
