Dear Pairents &c
I take my seat this morning to drop you a few lines to let you no that I am well hoping these lines may com safe to hand and find you all well I reseaved your letters yesterday that you sent by N. H. More he got to Greenville Tenn and maild the letters that you sent to me I have not got the comfort yet. I have bin promoted to first sergt in the same company that I was in the health of the regt is very bad at present there was 15 reported sick this morning in my company I heard yesterday that the yankeys was aleaving Nashville but I do not no wherther it is tru or not. give this invelop to Ann. well Ann you never told me who that was that you cut manerva out of. as it is giting most time to git diner I must close I remain yours truly untill death rite soon
