Revillee at 5½ oclock orders to march at 8 AM but we did not start until after 9 oclock when we took the advance & marched in a western course the day very pleasent, marched about 13 miles to day. we saw 3 deers to day & they rushed through the regt as we marched along

Revillee at daylight orders to march at nine oclock cool and cloudy our regiment drew rations this morning for three days we marched sixteen miles and arrived at clifton on the Tennessee river about five oclock p.m. we camped in the woods about one mile from the river

Revillee at daylight cool and misty this morning I wrote a letter home we remained in camp all day our regiment drew three days rations our second Division got on board of boats and went up the river this afternoon our regiment drew clothing this afternoon pleasant this afternoon

Revillee at six oclock quite pleasant this morning one of our company had a fit this morning I wrote one letter and sent two books home to day three of our company on duty we remained in camp all day the third Division of our corps got on board of boats this afternoon and commenced loading their bagage our company on picket

Revillee at four our regiment went out to the picket line at daylight we staid there untill about eight oclock then we went back to camp four of our company on picket warm and pleasant verry pleasant all day we received mail this afternoon we drew one days rations

Revillee at three oclock we broke up camp at daylight and marched in a south west direction we drove the rebel skirmishers about eight miles we then went into camp and threw up fortifycations we got them done about four p.m. verry pleasant all day our camp is close to a large pond of water

Revillee at daylight we struck tents at seven but did not march untill about nine oclock we then marched in a western direction and drove the rebels inside their works we formed a line of battle about noon we then advanced about a mile and threw up fortifycations one of our reg was killed and nine wounded

Revillee at four oclock our reg busy working on the fortifycations we got them done a little after noon considerable skirmishing this forenoon forty eight of our brigade wounded our gun boats shelling the rebel forts quite pleasant all day the rebels threw shells at our batterys all the afternoon

Revillee at six orders to march at eight oclock orders but we did not start till about noon we then marched in a northern direction we went about twelve miles and camped for the night we passed some verry good plantations to day all the timber is pine in this part

Revillee at five oclock we left camp at eight and went to the river and got on board of a boat at twelve and then went down the river four miles we then got off and marched one mile to the cars got on board and started for Meridian where we arrived at seven oclock

Revillee at four cool and cloudy we got on board of the cars this morning at five oclock but we did not leave untill ten then we started for Corinth it rained considerable to day we stoped a good many times to take in wood and water

we arrived at corinth at daylight we then changed cars and started for Memphis quite warm all day we arrived at memphis at half past two and amediately got on board of the steamer Bell St Louis and started up the river at seven oclock

On board of the steamer Bell St Louis going up the river to Cairo warm and pleasant this morning we passed a number of boats going down the river I cleaned my gun this afternoon we arrived at cairo about half past eleven oclock p.m.

quite warm this morning we got on board of the cars at ten oclock and started for madison we stoped at centralia about one hour one of our reg was knocked off the cars this afternoon we saw several farmers thrashing wheat

In Racine quite cool and windy I went to windsor to day on a visit I got back to Racine at half past four p.m. and then got my things ready to start to New Buffalo the steam boat did not come this afternoon and I did not get away

cool and windy this morning I got on board of the cars at half past eight and arrived at chicago at half past eleven I staid there till half past five then I got on the cars and went to New Buffalo I got there at nine oclock in the evening

cool and windy this morning I staid at new Buffalo till afternoon then I started for home where I arrived just before sundown the roads verry bad and muddy all the way I was not verry well all day
