Howard Bryan
Howard Bryan was born on August 28, 1873, in Georgia to Henry Bryan and Jane W. Howard. His father was a Confederate veteran who served on General P. G. T. Beauregard’s staff. His father died sometime before 1880, and his mother supported the family by working as a fruit grower. Bryan grew up in Kensington, Georgia, and eventually began work as a farmer. He and his sisters lived with their mother until at least 1910. In 1917, he was working as a carpenter in Colbert County, Alabama. By 1920, however, he was back in Kensington, Georgia, working on his mother’s farm. He died sometime after 1920.
