William T. M. Odiorne to Francis J. Parker, 4 April 1863
Camp at Potomac Creek Va.
April 4th 1863
Col F. J. Parker.
Dear Sir.
Your kind letter was received per tonights mail, also the $10 by Captain Bancroft on his arrival from home, and as you must well know of the many things which we are unable to draw and which the Sutlers all have, I will say nothing but will carefully invest the money for the benefit of the sick inmates of our Hospital. The health of the Regt is remarkably good at present having only one severe case of sickness. The man Rodgers of Co H who shot off his right thumb shortly after we came to this camp has a trouble resembling congestion of / the lungs. three cases of chronic Rheumatism and five cases of that awful disease chronic diarrhea. You probably the programme of what is going on about here so I will not tire you with any more.
Very truly Yours
Wm. T. M. Odiorne
Col Francis J. Parker.
