William H. Thomas to Francis J. Parker, 17 December 1908
Hingham Mass. Dec 14. 1908

Col. Francis J. Parker
            447 Marlboro St. Boston Mass

Dear Sir and Comrade:
At the re-union of the 32d Regt. Mass Vol. Inf. Veteran Asso. held at the American House, Saturday last 12. inst. it was voted that a letter be sent our beloved Colonel Francis J. Parker expressing the love, respect and esteem the Comrades have for him and the sincere wish that his life may be long continued.

I came across recently among my papers of that period a copy of your farewell address as Major of the Battalion at Fort Warren. I bring to mind how it impressed me at the time so much so that I made a copy of it and have preserved it. I can see in my mind very clearly the occasion and how badly we all felt. I had it with me at the meeting last Saturday and read it to the gathering.

With my personal greeting and hearty wish for your continued good health and comfort.

I am yours       Most sincerely
and respectfully.
Wm. H. Thomas                     Secretary.
