James Francis Tiffany
James Francis Tiffany was born on August 9, 1856, in Providence, Rhode Island, to James and Adeline Tiffany. His father was a hardware merchant who owned $30,000 of real estate and $5,000 of personal property by 1870. He grew up and attended school in Providence, and by 1880, he was also working as hardware merchant. He married a woman named Lilla, and they had no children. By 1910, they were living in Cranston, Rhode Island. They moved to Washington, D.C., in the 1910s, and his wife died on November 8, 1920. He married a woman named Addie in the 1920s. He died in Washington, D.C., on September 24, 1930.
