Harriet L. Tiffany was born on September 29, 1858, in Rhode Island to James and Adeline Tiffany. Her father was a hardware merchant who owned $30,000 of real estate and $5,000 of personal property by 1870. She grew up and attended school in Providence, Rhode Island, and she married William A. Morgan on June 6, 1883. They had two children: Marshall, born around 1888; and Forrest, born around 1893. They lived in Providence, and her husband worked as a lawyer. They moved to Warwick, Rhode Island, in the 1910s. In the early 1920s, they travelled to Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, and Great Britain. Her husband died in 1924, and by 1930, she was living in her son Forrest’s household in Warwick. She died on March 15, 1949.
