Well mother I thought that I would wright a few lines to you to let you no that I am well and hop that you ar the saim I dont want you to feal bad about me for I never felt so well as i do now I haint sean a sick day sinc I enlistad I am as fat as a hog I waid my self yestday and dont you thinck that I waid a 150 lbs / you wanted to no what we had to eat we hav got as nice a dining room as there is in st Johnsbury we hav awl the vittals we want to eat and it is as good as I want we hav apple sas 3 times a week we hav wright up to the handol I want you to send me some postag stamps for this is the last one I hav got I wright 2 or 3 times a week I want you to send me the caladonan / every week for I want to no what is going on up there tell ben to send my bango as soon as he can ben that boot I will send as soon as i git som money to send it I cant wright any more this timb ben if you want to comb out hear I will send you money when I git payed of if you will comb I will send you 75 dollars next march as soon / as i git paid the first of march
