Respected Wife I take a few moments to inform you that my health is good and that I am about leaving this place I leave to morow morning if nothing hapens in my favour I worked for Haginbuch won month and got twenty six dollars for it I quit work last tusday nite William is not in company with him as yet and I do not know as he will be if he does he is welcome to be for all me I borded their as long as I wish to I think likley that I mite get work hear if I should try but I do not like well anough to stop and try if their is no better place for me than I think this is I shal be in vermont sometime or other if I live but I think their is provisions and grocery ar about the same as in Vermont with the exceptions of flower and corn flower is eight dollars aberal corn forty cents per bushel and the inhabitence ar about three quarters duch and the rest ar Irish and negroes and the fever and ague as thick as as the dogs and tha ar two dogs to won man for every man has won and every woman two I have waited two day to see if could not geat an answer from you I think I will not waste any longer if their is any coms before you geat this William will send it to me I roate three weeks ago come sunday and when I geat to uncle Issacks I will rite again to let you know wheather I go on or stop their you little know how anxious I am to hear from you and the children I know that I can not see them you nor them
I will send you five dollars in this and will also send a degarotipe and if you can not tel hoos it is you keepe it until I see you and I will tell hoos it is the man had it take eight times before he was willing to have it go out of the saloon it will cost won dollar and sixty eight cents when it reaches Waterford postage eighteen cents I want you should geat yours at any rate and send to me as soon as you geat this if you have money enougf if not I will send you som more and would like the childrens if it was convenient but I cannot single any won for preference tha ar all alike to me I will not spend any more time in details onley I would like to see you very much and the children to Mother and all W Ladd has had a sore hand so that he could not work for two weeks but has gon to work again and well and John too
