After being very On grateful I thought that i would write you those few liens to let you know that I ame well thanks be to god for all his kind and tender mrcies to me so litle deserving of it hoping that those few liens will fiend you in the enjoyment of good helth I would have wrote to sume time a go but I herd that you was home on forlo and I did not now your derections And my Wife wrote to me that she had a leter from a / man by the name of tucker then I knew that it must be you Mr tucker it was 1 month and 5 days from I left New Orleins to I got to the Regment I had to march one hundred miels before I found the Redgment and it almost killed me but my helth has improved ever since with the exception of sore eys mr tucker I have seen some of the hardest times that I ever saw in the service I ame still in the hospital department yet Doctor Armstrong is home on forlow and mr Akin is in charge of the Regment i think I think i shall get home some time this winter if all / is well mr tucker I must tell you that them things in Algers in the store house has all ben counted lost and if thare is any thing worth a looking after you might as well have a hand in as aney one els But do not say anything to the store keeper but you must judge for your self for you know that it is every man for him self in our days I must close this and I remain yours
