Dear Brother
your kind and wellcome letter came to hand last evening and I was glad to hear that you were well and soon will come home we are all well except Reuben he is verry sick he has a soar leg the and a feaver with it the dr has bin hear for some time this evening and has just gone he said thair is poor hopes of him god only knows wether he is to be spard or not / uncle george Persing was berried yesterday and [?] is a bout his [?]
 
i have not herd from Philip lately the last i herd he was well i will send you the adress then you can see where he is
 
you must not think hard of me for not writing no there is some folks hear with and i have [faded] to sleep well i will close you must ancer soon
