Dear Sister I received your very kind letter of the 1st inst with mutch pleasure it found me well with the exception of the tootheache whitch has swolen my face rigt smartley It is some better at this time My box came to hand safeley my pants and boots fit splended the roudabougt is a most too short and to tigt around the boddy I can make ougt to ware it I have nothing but it to war it is not quite heavy enough for the cold weather I was very mutch pleased with the box and contents you wished to know what I needed I have writen several things / since your letter started I will try and give you a list of all I want too pare of wolen slips too wolen under shirts 1 pare of pants 1 pare of socks 1 heavy blancket if you can make me another heavy roudabought have it cut a bougt 3 or 4 inches longer than this one and abought 3 inches large around the boddy the sleaves is just right I want it well waded all through I think those articles is all I will need this winter send them as soon as you can I wrote to Mr Browning abought some caps 5 if he had them I want 1 for my self and the other 4 for my messmates we need the very badley I wrote to him some 4 weeks ago but have not received any answer from him I want to hear from him as soon as posible so I can send to Richmond / buy me a cup I have some metal Buttons at Mr Stewarts in Abingdon that Mr Rambo sent there from Richmond there is a dozen of them put 6 of them in my roundabought there is no news worth wrighting you every thing is quiet hear We heard hear this morning that the enemy are advancing on our county I am in hopes that it is not true if it is true I am in hopes that they will send us back there to help to defend you all tell Mr Cassell that Rufus has bein sick some three or five days but has got well a gain give my respects to Mrs Casell an Alin and uncl Adam Mr Browning and lady Mr Stewart and familey tell Lewis I will wright to him in a few dayes nothing more from your
