Dear Sister
I received your kind letter of the 18th inst with mutch pleasure I had not received a letter from you since I received my box I wrote to you imediately on the reception of my things it seames by your letter that you have not received it for fear you do not get it I will give you a list of what I nead at this time 1 blanket 1 pr socks 1 pr pants like the ones you did send if you can get the jeans my read comfort I wore last winter My box came to hand in good order every thing fit well except the roundabought / whitch was rather small if you can get the cloth any kind of heavy goods will do Grey or blew preferable you may make me another one this one is rather ligt for the winter make the other abougt 3 inches larger around the boddy and a bought 4 inches longer I want it well waded I like the way this one is made you can get some metal butons at Thos Stewarts in Abingdon I have paid Mr Ramboe for them put seven of them on the roundabougt those shirts you spoke of if you can get some flanel and make me too under shirts too pare of slips you may allso send me a pare of suspenders and the sisors tell Mr Browning to send those caps on at $2.50 cts tell / him he ought not to think of charging $3 00 to a poor soldier that has to go night and day throu wet and dry and tell him if he has got above wrighting to me that I want him to let me know I nead a cap very bad at this time I have nothing but an old scull cap that I got in Richmond when we left there tell father that Mr Ramboe left the money that I gave him to buy my uniform with at the Glade Springs with Robert Alison $15 00 is what I gave him What I sent by Mr Earnest you said come safe I have sent $60.00 in all to you I wish to know if you have received it all I sent $20 in a letter / $45.00 by Mr Ramboe $25 00 by Mr Earnest makeing in all $60.00 if I mistake not I sent you the Lords Preyer in a letter on a large sheat you have never stated whether you got it or not I took it from a yankey house near Falls Church I think a great deal of it I send you a piece of yankey money 3 cents gave to me by a yankey prisoner I captured near Falls church you saw an acount of it in the Abingdon paper of Doctor Dunn geting the revolving rifle I got a fine pistol at the same time I allso send you some of our own money a 12½ cent bill the first I ever saw tell father I sent by Mr McConell for a spanish sadle like Samuel Hutchers I wish him to see to geting it made and sent to me as soon as he can if he canot get a spanish saddle I do not want any
