Dear Sister I received your letter of the 10th with mutch pleasure I was glad to hear that you was all well at that time & happy to say that your letter found me enjoying fine health I think it is all up abought us geting to come home till our twelve months is ought we all thougt some time ago that we would get [paper hole] for Christmas General Johnson told Col Jones that he would not spare any of the Cavalry so we may give up to stay all winter you wrote to me in your letter of the 9th that you had herd that Cousin Trit was dead there is nothing of it he is as hearty and as well as a man could be We have but three men ought at the hospital at this time Thos Sheopard Thos Hubble [faded] the latter who is at home on furlou you said that Miss Molie Moor wished to know whare her Sheopard was you cant tell her that he is at Richmond in the hospital the last I heard of him he was on the mend my box is lost I expect I was at the Junction yesterday and found it reges / Regestered on their books but could not find the box I will go a gain tomorrow and try again to find it I want father to send me the Express Agents receit he ought to have sent it to me when tha started the box I want him to see the express agt and see what he say says abought paying for it if it cant be found it must of come safe to the Junction or they would not have Regerstered it in the express ofice is so crouded there that it is imposable for any one to get any thing that is there they say they are not bound for any thing that is lost if they are not I do not see the use of an express ofice I would hate to loose the box for I nead every thing that was in it tell Mr Browning I will pay him for the caps the first one that comes down hear that I can send the money by you said that mother wished to know if I wished her to pay Mrs Hogg for the jeans certainley I do that is what I sent the money home for you said that cousin Sue McDaniel said that she had writen to me I received her letter abought the time Will Clark was killed and thougt I had answered it I have bein looking for an answer for some time I have not time to wright any more at present you must wright soon Give my love to all at home and my respects to all my friends from you afectonate Brother
