Dear Sister
                                    I received your kind letter several dayes ago but have not had time to answer it we have bein on the march for some three weeks we have bein fighting most all the time the Regt was at Sudley Mills yesterday & Jackson was at Manasas they had a pretty severe fight near Manasas on the 29th inst in whitch Generals Ewel Talifaro was dangerousley woonded We suckceded in driving the enemy back with heavy loss our los was betwen 700 & 800 bein kiled and woonded there is another fight expected to day I have not bein with the Regt since Monday I was slightley woonded / in the foot at Waterloo Bridge on the Rapahannock River it is not a very severe woond just grazed the top of my foot it caused my foot to swell verry mutch I think it will be well in a few dayes I was at a private house for several dayes they treated me very well while I stayed with them We are near flint Hill in Rapahanock County with the bagage wagons we will leave hear in the morning for Gainesville near whare we was last winter Lewis has bein with the wagons all the time since we left Hanover C.H. his horse has not bein fit for duty for some time tell Cousin Miltin that I heard from Cousin Will yesterday he was well and doing well I have not time to wright any more at this time I wish you would send me a pare of pants and a shirt with Cousin Will Morell when he / comes down if you can get them Tell all the folks I will wright to them when ever I get time Give my love to Mother and Sisters so may God bless you is the wish of your
