Dear Sister I arived here yesterday I was asigned to duty yesterday to day I will start to Lynchburg in the morning with horses broken down horses that have bein turned over to the QM at this place I supose that will be my buisnes this winter driveing horses back & forth from heare to Lynchburg & bringing fresh horses from there down here
I think I can do very well as long as the weather keeps dry I do not know what arangements there will be mad after while I will try one trip to Lynchburg & if I cant stand it I will tell Maj Richard that it is too hard for my constitution I will wright to Gen Jones in a few dayes I think I can get a / transfer to him yet if the thing is managed right I will wright & get him to advise me what to do Maj Richards is perfectley willing that I should have a transfer but it is not in his power to give it A [?] Gen can give me a transfer
I will try it soon I got here very well had good luck all the way I have no news to wright you at this time
So I will close tell aunt I can buy overshirts down here she nead not make any flanel for me. Get some yarn from here to knit me comfort Cousin Kate Williams will knit it for me as soon as you send her the yarn
My love to father Mother Lewis & Laura I will wright to lewis in a few dayes when I get to Lynchburg
if I have time Give my best wishes to Mollie tell Ann & Kidd I did not see James as I passed Doublon he was abought a mile from the Rail Road & beleive me as ever
