Dear Brother
I seat myself to wright you a few lines this morning to let you know that I am well & doing well at this time I returned from Lynchburg yesterday morning this place we start again in the morning with another lot of horses to Lynchburg
I do not know what I will doo when we get through mooveing this lot of horses they are all that is to go for some time I will try for a transfer a gain as soon as I get back to Gordonsville Maj. Richards said he had no objections to me geting a transfer if I could I shall wright to Gen Jones in a few dayes for him to advise how to procede with the arangement
if I faill in that I will go back to the Companey & report for duty I can do a great / deal lighter duty in the Companey than I can get to do heare if this is what they call light duty I dont want to see the hard part it will suit a man very well that is affraid of bullets that is abought all the differance I see in this and doing duty in the Companey so if I canot get a transfer I will tell Maj Richard to send me back to my Command
I wish you would see abought getting that leather from Mr Litchfield & get my boots made in four or five weeks
Tell James Loyd that I did not have the money to spare to get them knives for him when I was in Lynchburg but I will get them this time & send them to him if I can find any person in Lynchburg that is going ought home
I wrote to Jane a few dayes ago / I told her to get some yarn & get some Katie Williams to knit me a comfort I will get butons and trimings for my coat & send it home as soon as I can
