Dear Cousin I received your very kind letter some time since and was glad to hear from you all [faded] I have know news worth writing we all like our new house tolerable well I think it is a very pretty place to live but it is so lonesome here there is very few young folks about here it is not like old Tennessee no how I've not seen my sweetheart since I've been here and I dont like it a bit neither but I cant help myself I dont believe I'll [faded] if I dont see him 
 
There is to be a two days meeting at Walnut Grove next saturday and sunday come down it is right close here I dont know whether I'll go or not I am afraid I might get in the wrong pew Father got a letter from Eva a short time ago she was well then. Cousin Joe McDaniel was down here two weeks ago he said that Cousin Sue was no better Aunt Pollie is very poorly and has been for some time Sarah has been sick too and uncle George has something the matter with his throat and jaw they are the most afflicted family I ever saw I believe 
 
            You must come down and go to singing there is singing school at Liberty Church about a mile from here I was there last sunday their sunday school commenced last sunday too they are about the hardest looking lot I ever saw over here Miss Tish said she was coming with you when you come you must be sure and bring her I dont know when we will come up they have so much work to do here. Tell cousin Lewis to come down and see us tell Mary and Bettie and all to come it is not far now. well I'll close for this time give my love to all and except the same to yourself
