There is heavy fireing / over the river to day think they are fighting we can here it just as plain as though it was not ½ mile. it began before light this morning it it is 12 oclock and we hear it now while I am writing. the boys thing they are fighting but dont know. write soon as you get this and tell Eliza to write I have not had a letter from Amanda yet Write her and tell her to write tell her how to direct a letter. I wrote her once but guess she did not get it
