Rosamond W. Twombly (maiden name: Colby) was born on May 8, 1816, in Vermont. She married Benjamin F. Twombly on January 1, 1841, and they had at least four children: Rosamond, born around 1842; Robert, born around 1843; Eliza, born around 1844; and Luther, born around 1858. They lived in Barrington until the 1850s, when they moved to Tamworth, New Hampshire. Her husband worked as a farmer, and by 1860, they owned $1,000 of real estate and $300 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $2,500 of real estate and $800 of personal property. She died on May 13, 1874.
