Dear aunt
I am in good health and hope this may find you all enjoying the same blessing we expect  to leave here to day or tomorrow I have been here a week and never recd a letter yet and I think you have had time to write since I told you to write I think something is wrong that I do not hear from you
 
I had plenty of fun Jes yesterday fore-noon in robbing Sutler waggons I helped to rob six of them and we got about twelve hundred dollars worth of goods out of them free gratis but it had to be divided among six or seven hundred who helped to rob them so it did not pay very well on the whole
 
I got some crackers and cakes some apples water mellons tobacco and cigars / the Sutler took our money while it lasted now when we have none we will take his goods with out asking
 
            they are trying to put McClelen out of his position again is they do they will have to put his army out with him I heard his soldiers say they would not serve under any other general if McClellen was superseded by old grisly fremont we want to serve under our brave Little Mac and no other for he is the best general / America if Little Mac is put out it raise a rebelion in our own army I for one will come home befor I will serve under fremont the Parolled Prisoners are coming in here by the thousands and have been for the last few days Some have no shoes indeed many of them and many no pants and some have no shirts they have been half starved but no more than the rebels them selves. they are on half
