Vesta Ann Haynes
Vesta Ann Haynes (maiden name: Cooke) was born on September 25, 1824, in New Gloucester, Maine, to Joseph and Roxanna Cooke. She married Henry C. Haynes on August 1, 1841, and they had at least five children: Charles, born around 1843; Edward, born around 1845; George, born around 1848; Archibald, born around 1850; and Etta, born around 1854. They lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and her husband worked as a stone dealer. They moved to Groton, Massachusetts, in the 1850s, and by 1860, they owned $8,000 of real estate and $2,000 of personal property. Her husband died of consumption on February 2, 1861.
 
She married Simeon Burt on May 27, 1865. They lived in Groton, and her husband worked as a book canvasser. By 1870, they owned $4,500 of real estate. They moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the 1870s, and her husband died in the early 1900s. By 1910, she was living in her stepson’s household in Philadelphia. She died of heat exhaustion in Philadelphia on July 17, 1911.
