My Husband John A Shepherd wishes his pension got by his full name. You will see by the paper of 1880 his pension was John A Shepherd and the No 331030 while the others was John Shepherd and the No 242395 Now there was a John Shepard of Ohio whose papers was sent to my Husband and he returned same to the Commissioner of pensions also the name Shepard was not spelled as our name is

There was one Alford Edson of the P.O. Department that was Sargent in Mr Shepherds Co
Mr Shepherd done two duties all the time untill he was hurt at Aldee. He was detailed as blacksmith and when they stoped he shod horses. after he was hurt he was in the Hospital nine months from the 30 day June of 1863 till Mar 1864 He was at Washington Hall Hospital Alexandria
