Edward Beaumont to Julia F. Hensley, 18 April 1862
Camp Henry McCulloch
April 18th 1862

Dear Cousin Julia
I received a letter from you some time ago which if I am not mistaken I did not answer. you must excuse me this time and I will do better in future.

I was at home about a week ago, found them all very well there, and on my return to camp I found Will's horse which he had over looked in some way when he was out hunting for him.

I have not had marching orders yet, but am expecting them every day. I think we will go to Missouri or Tennesee in less than a month at least I hope so.

I suppose you have heard of the battle in Mississippi andTenn on the 6th & 7th inst I would willingly give what the Confederacy owes me ifI couldgo right on there where there is some thing to do.

Will isvery well since his return to camp I have never enjoyed better health than at present. Love to all and a small portion yourself, from your aff Cousin
