William C. Smith
William C. Smith was born around 1832. By the early 1860s, he was living in Texas. He enlisted in the Confederate army on September 15, 1861, and he mustered in as a sergeant in Company A of the 26th Texas Cavalry. He was eventually reduced to the ranks. He remained in the army until at least November 1863, and he died sometime afterward.
