Phleming D. Turner
Phleming D. Turner was born around 1826 in Georgia. He moved to Texas by the 1840s, and he married Virginia C. Ware on April 18, 1848. Their son William was born around 1849. They lived in Colorado, Texas, and he worked as a farmer. By 1850, he owned $200 of real estate. His wife probably died in the early 1850s, and he married Jane S. Bell on July 17, 1852. They had at least three children: John, born around 1856; Riley, born around 1862; and Anne, born around 1872.

In November 1862, he received a commission as a captain in Company G of the 3rd Texas Cavalry, Arizona Brigade. He apparently served until the end of the war. He settled in Fayette County, Texas, after leaving the army, and he resumed his work as a farmer. His wife probably died in the 1870s. He moved to San Marcos, Texas, in the 1880s, and he married Ann E. McClanahan on October 15, 1885. He died in Austin, Texas, on September 28, 1909.
