Major Metcalf
Port Royal
Dear Sir
I have sent to the 3d Regiment at Port Royal directed to Col. Brown at three different times three large boxes of Hospital stores & each time I wrote him asking him to acknowledge receipt & report if the Regiment was in particular need of any thing & I would endeavor to furnish it. I have never rec'd any reply from him I cannot tell whether the boxes were rec'd or not. They were sent Nov. 23d Dec 26 & Feby 7th
herewith I enclose invoices of the contents which I have also / sent in my previous letter to the Col. I am very anxious to learn whether or not the goods reached their destination & you will confer a favor by finding all you can about them & informing me. I have written other letters since to which I am without any reply & am at a loss to account for it.
Very truly Yours
R. M. Larrude
