Head Q'r's Battery "C", 3d R.I. A [torn]
Morris Island S.C. July 27th [torn]
Dear Colonel,
I know you owe me a letter but thinking you have had ample time to wade through the last I write again. I received the Regt Order requested. The Battalion here have been paid. they sent home $6243.00. Bailey is ordered to report to you for duty, why I know not but may learn. I think Langdon is to be Chief of Artillery. Turner is now and I am "Assistant to the Chief of Artillery on duty at Department Head Qrs". there is a good old fashioned quarrel going on among the Regulars Jackson out, Henry out without even a [torn] notice. I am sorry for Bailey as he has done as well as he could have and worked hard. I retain command of [faded] send Harris (James) of my Company [faded]
